Councillor Anthea Merchant

My name is Anthea Merchant and I am a lifetime local born and raised in the centre of Sway, and also work at St Luke's primary school.

I want the next generation of Sway to feel they have a significant future within the village, which includes my two daughters. I am a young woman which seems to be a rare thing in Parish Councils these days, so I will contribute to representing all Sway residents.

I and my family are users of the various local facilities. My concern for over development is huge which could change the nature of what a village should be, I get that moving with the times is going to happen but how far can that go until we become a town!!

I have attended and spoken on behalf of residents at Parish Council meetings and represented locals at the NFNPA Planning Committee.  Now I have been given a role on the Planning and Transport Committee I will be helping to make decisions for the village. As a first timer on the Parish Council I feel that I can be a valuable voice for the next generation of Sway.
